DIY Halloween Wreath

I’ve had numerous people ask me where I learned how to make these wreaths. My answer… I just looked at one in a store and thought I could make that. So I did. However, that hasn’t been helpful to everyone who wants to know how to make them… so this post is for all of you. Here are my step by step instructions to make a wreath. Since Halloween is coming up it seemed fitting to make a Halloween wreath for my instructions. Enjoy!

First you need to buy:

-Deco Mesh (tulle)

– Wreath Ring (12 inch is the size I use)

-Chenille Stems (I like to call them fuzzy stick things)

Depending on what type of wreath you are making will determine the colors you choose for tulle. Once you have your colors chosen cut them into about 4 inch wide pieces. On a 12 inch wreath ring there are 6 sections. I like to have 7 different tulle pieces per section. Then repeat those same 7 tulle pieces for the remaining sections. Therefore, you need 7 different colors of tulle for a wreath. Of those 7 tulle colors you need to cut 6 different 4 inch pieces (one for each section of the wreath ring).

Once you have all your pieces cut take a piece and twist it (pictured below) then attach it to the wire ring with the fuzzy stick things.

Cut off excess fuzzy stick to use for your next piece. Then repeat to finish the sections.

After you have finished all sections of your wreath it is ready to go on display. However, I like to give it a little something extra so I try to find a sign and some sparkly things to attach. I have had a lot of luck finding signs at my local craft store.

Attach sign and sparkly things.

Your wreath should now be ready to put on display.

Enjoy!
